The Senior section at Maidenhead AC provides something for all standards of runner. Whether you’re running for fitness, fun or full-on competition, there is something on offer for you! Standards catered for
MAC Welcomes members of a wide range of standards. As a guide, you should be able to run continuously for 4-5 miles for Wednesday runs. Tuesdays track sessions can cater for runners who can complete 5km at any pace. Sundays usually start from around 8 miles;
Maidenhead has a number of coaches with a wealth of experience who can help you improve. All our coaches a volunteers and are UK Athletics qualified. See the senior coaching section for information on coached sessions and training plans.
Despite the name, Maidenhead Athletic Club is predominantly a road running club so don’t be put off by the name! See all the information about Road Running in the senior section.
Events & Competitions
Seniors participate in two series of events with other local clubs throughout the year. There is a competitive element to both of these series’, however they are open to and enjoyed by runners of all standards. EVERY member is welcome and the emphasis is on fun!
- The stalwart of winter training is Cross Country and MAC Seniors compete in the Thames Valley Cross Country League
- Moving into summer, and members don the vest for the excellent 5K Series
In addition, throughout the year, members can represent Maidenhead AC in any open races. Some of these will contribute to the Club Championship, one of the Senior Awards which cover both road running and cross country.
The hotly contested Helpers’ Handicap is open to any member who helped at the Easter 10 event earlier the same year.

We like to play hard as well as run hard and there are plenty of social events throughout the year – some for seniors only and some coming together with the Junior Section. These range from quiz nights to pub runs, the christmas and club awards evenings and running trips to Le Touquet.
