Useful Information
Although each event has a timetable this is more of a guide rather than a definitive start time for each event. Often the events can finish quicker or take longer than expected. If your child is unsure when to go to their event please ask Steve or Leila.
Sportshall is very popular and sometimes we have more athlete’s wanting to compete than events available for them to participate in. Occasionally, this may mean that an athlete or two may have no track events in which case they will be given more field events or vice versa. In the very worse case scenario and we are fully oversubscribed an athlete may be asked to be a reserve. We will ensure that in their next available competition that these athletes will be given priority of events.
In either February or March there is a regional competition so it is possible for an athlete to be selected for the county team. Selection is done by the county manager who looks at all the results from the 4 competitions and selects from the ‘best’ 8 performers in both track and field events in each age group and gender.
