MAC was very well represented with 13 runners taking part in this popular 5 mile event on Sunday 7th May. Running conditions were perfect, with great organisation and fantastic support from the marshals and the locals adding to the runners’ enjoyment.

Bracknell Half Marathon
Also on Sunday 7th May 5 MAC members ran the Bracknell Half. The conditions were perfectly cool, and they all had good runs despite the undulations. Sarah Fogg was particularly pleased to run under 2 hours, only the 3rd time she has ever done that! (In fact she smashed that target by over 2 minutes!)

Jeremy Lockett 01:43:25 (01:43:10)
Ali Fyffe 01:49:36 (01:49:23)

Chris Sutton and Caroline Shrimpton ran the Woodley 10k on Sunday, with Caroline achieving another PB. Chris finished in 00:47:29, just ahead of Caroline in 00:47:39.

Junior news: Alder Valley Boys’ competition
On Sunday 7th May the boys’ first Alder Valley competition of the season took place at Guildford. Although Maidenhead came 5th overall, U13 boys came 3rd and our non-scoring U11 boys also put in great performances on the day. Our U15s had less than half their team, but the five boys who did compete put in some fine performances and scored valuable points for the club. One notable performance was Luke-Lom Hynes winning the 1500m race in a time of 4:40.3. Many of the boys gained PBs.
Our U11s did amazingly well with Jack Britton coming joint first with Callum Presnail and one other athlete in 75m, then Jack also winning Long Jump in a distance of 3m 84cm; MAC took the top 4 places in Long Jump: 2nd was Callum Presnail; 3rd Dominic Monger; and 4th Lucas Norton. Dominic Monger came 1st in Shot with a throw of 5.36m and Lucas Norton took second place in 1000m. The U11 Relay team also won the relay.
Our U13 boys saw some notable performances from Alex Stizraker who came in 2nd place in Shot with a throw of 6.36m, and Ethan Towers who was 3rd. Ethan also came 2nd in the Discus and Leo Boyes 3rd in Javelin with a throw of 20.75m.
An Apology …
… to Gareth Ralphs who ran the Danesfield Dash in 00:48:07, not 00:49:07 as reported.
