On Saturday 21st January , Abbie Jones, Katie Crowhurst, Toby Ralph and Luke-Lom Hynes ran in the Berkshire Schools Cross Country at Newbury Showground; Luke-Lom finished in 5th place in u15 boys and went on to represent Berkshire Schools at the South East Schools Intercounties Cross Country Championships on 4th February, in Brands Hatch. He finished in a superb 53rd place and was the 6th Berkshire athlete home which means he has qualified to run for Berkshire at the esteemed English Schools Cross Country Championship in Norwich in March.
Thames Valley Cross Country League
The finale of the Thames Valley Cross Country League took place on Sunday and MAC seniors were determined to finish the season on a high note. The race had more hills than most of us remembered from previous seasons and a smattering of mud.
We finished 8th place on the day and finished the season in 10th place! This is our highest team finish ever! Well done everyone who has run for MAC in TVXC this year - everybody's contribution is valuable. Individual results below:

London Winter Run
Lynsey Flitton and David Waugh were among 15000 who took part in the London Winter Run on Sunday 5th February. In aid of Cancer Research UK, the 10k course is in central London, with iconic landmarks en route. David finished in 56:50 and Lynsey in 57:04.
Following last week’s report on the Berkshire Sporthall League match at TVAC on 29th January, we are pleased to announce that Katie Lösel also got called up for the County U11 Sportshall team and will join Erin Rees this Saturday at Regional Sportshall at Burgess Hill.
We also heard this week that two U13 girls: Olivia Hall and Olivia D'Aversa; and two U13 boys: Luke-Lom Hynes and Adam Alhaq have been selected for the U13 County Sportshall team. Abbie Jones and Olivia Phelps are two of the team of seven U15 girls to be selected. They will be competing in Regionals at Burgess Hill on 4th March.
The following sportshall performances on 29th January deserve a special mention. They were included in last week’s Advertiser report, but were not in time for the club email.
In U11 Boys Jack Britton came joint 3rd in Speed Bounce. In U11 girls Annie Jonker came 2nd in Speed Bounce; Erin Rees took 2nd place in Balance tes;, and Eleanor Dries took 2nd in Foam Javelin. In U13 boys James Badham took 2nd place in Vertical Jump; and both James and Luke-Lom Hynes won the 8 Lap Paarlouf. The 4 x 2 Relay team took 2nd place. In U13 Girls Olivia Hall won Vertical Jump and came joint 2nd in 2 lap; Eliza Craker took 2nd in Overhead throw; and Sienna Heape took joint 2nd in Speed Bounce. In U15 girls Oliva Phelps took 2nd in 2 lap and Standing Long Jump; Michaela Nicoll took joint first in Speed Bounce; Abbie Jones took 2nd place in Speed Bounce; and Abbie Jones and Lucy Thornton took 1st place in 8 Lap Paarlouf.
Thank you to all parents who have helped out either with officiating or as Team manager; to Steve O'Kelly for the hours of work in sorting team sheets out and being the overall Team manager; and to Karen Jones for all her hard work . This was Steve's last Sportshall as Team Manager after serving two years and Karen Jones’ last Sportshall having been responsible for Admin for last three years.
