Chiltern League Cross Country
A bitterly cold Saturday (11th February) saw the juniors competing in the final Chiltern League cross country race of the season in Milton Keynes.  The U11s were first to go closely followed by the U13 girls and it was great to see all these juniors giving it everything on the hilly course.
The U13 boys were in with the best chance of a team medal as they started in 4th place, only 1 point behind local rivals Bracknell AC in 3rd.  Luke-Lom Hynes led the team home ably supported by his team mates who all had strong runs.  After a tense wait for the results the team were rewarded with 2nd place, however, Silson AC were missing one of their runners from the results and the overall team standings have since been corrected to put Maidenhead in 3rd place and Silson AC 2nd by 5 points.  Despite this, 3rd is a great achievement.
Individually, Luke-Lom Hynes was 2nd U13 boy overall and Abbie Jones was 3rd U15 girl overall.
The juniors have had another brilliant cross country season and they, like the seniors the previous week, prove that in cross country everyone's contribution to the team performance makes a difference.  Well done everyone!
