This week’s news report includes:-
- Dublin Marathon
- River Thames Half Marathon
- Junior Sportshall
Kat Hall ran the Dublin Marathon on Sunday 29th October. She finished in 04:46:52, only a little way off her previous PB, due to the hillier course.
River Thames Half Marathon
Sarah Fogg and Matt Levett ran the River Thames Half on Sunday morning in Walton on Thames. Matt felt he wasn’t in top form but finished in 1:29:10 (1:29:06), in 81st place. Sarah’s time was 2:05:44 (2:03:48). She was pacing her friend Claire Brooks the whole way and they beat her 2:05 target comfortably.
The weather conditions were near perfect, being cool and dry. The race was almost entirely flat, but narrow in places where the course route was on pavements and the towpath.
Sunday 28th October saw the junior section make a very impressive start in their first Sportshall match of the season. There were some very good performances from experienced and new athletes, putting many of our teams in a good position for future matches.

An injured athlete meant a there was a team of four, who nevertheless came a commendable 4th out of 7 teams.
The support and help given to our new athletes by fellow team members and parents was very impressive.
Thank you to all team managers, officiators and parent helpers.
