Bovington Half Marathon
Elisa Harris ran this on Sunday 17th December - the course was long at 17 miles!!!! The toughest, hilliest, muddiest, wettest trail she has ever done and despite the rain it was so much fun. She finished in 3:43:34 (chip time 3:43:21) haven’t checked official time as travelling home. She was impressed with the medal which is the size of a dinner plate!!

Berkshire County Championships
Abbie Jones was the only Maidenhead AC athlete running in Sunday’s Berkshire Cross Country Championship at Prospect Park, Reading. Abbie did herself proud finishing a respectable 10th in her first year of U17. She is now second reserve for the Berkshire team, with every likelihood that she will be called up. Conditions were horrendous, resembling a mud bath for Abbie who ran in the last race of the day.
MAC members have been running Parkruns in exotic and far distant locations this weekend, namely Perth in Australia and Hamilton in New Zealand.
On Saturday 16 December Julie Whitaker and Peter Oldham joined an influx of runners from the UK to run at Claisebrook Cove Park Run, Perth (Australia). Parkruns in Perth start at 8am to avoid the heat of the day, but it was still high twenties.
The Claisebrook course is a delightful riverside route alongside the Swan River. No new PBs this week but given lack of running recently, acceptable times of 26:28 and 29:05 for Peter and Julie respectively (a better performance than England's cricketers could muster...)
Brian Roles did the Hamilton Lake, NZ Parkrun today in 28:26. It was his fastest Parkrun this year, on a fast flat course, partly over decking with water lilies either side.
Brian has further events planned for 23rd and 25th December.
Santa Fun Run, Padstow
This must be one of the most scenic Santa Fun Runs, overlooking the Camel Estuary in Padstow, Cornwall. Judi and Garry Jeffries, and Nick and Val Toeman donned their Santa suits to take part on Saturday 9th December.
