Our 2nd Chiltern League Cross Country event for the Juniors was held on Saturday 11th November at Teardrop Lakes in Milton Keynes. Everyone got there with no problems on the roads and we appreciated parents bringing the children so far to run. We were lucky the rain held off although previous rain had made the course very muddy, especially on those two very steep hills. It was a very difficult course and everyone did so well and should be very proud of themselves. We had another good turnout especially our U11 boys and girls who for most of them this was only their 2nd ever cross country, so for them all to finish and run so well on such a hard course was fantastic. One of our U15 boys, Joshua Pope was running for the first time and had a fantastic run so congratulations to him. A special mention for one of our U17 girls too, Michaela Nicoll, who came and competed and gave it her all to the very end and earned some very valuable points for her team mates and friends which showed pure determination and commitment for her club.

Thames Valley League Cross Country
An impressive 32 MAC runners (19 men and 13 women) turned out to take part in the second Thames Valley Cross Country event on Sunday 12th November. The event was hosted by Datchet Dashers, starting and finishing on the Brocas at Eton. Although some parts of the course along the Thames towpath were muddy, the main challenge was running into a biting and fierce northerly wind along some of the exposed stretches.
The men's team finished in 11th place and the ladies in 9th place meaning MAC finished 10th overall. If you would like to see the detailed results you can access them through our website HERE . The next race is on Sunday 26th November at 11am hosted by Sandhurst Joggers at Lord Wandsworth College, near Hook.
Grand Union Half Marathon
It was a bracing morning - chilly with a northerly wind - as Simon Goldfinch, Jon Oliver and Lynsey Flitton travelled to Uxbridge for the start of the Grand Union Canal Half - Autumn Edition. Leila and Simon had completed the Spring edition and were hoping to finish the same course today to earn their interlocking medal. Unfortunately Leila was injured so Lynsey took her place.
The course runs point to point along the towpath of the Grand Union Canal from Cowley in Uxbridge, with a final uphill mile through Cassiobury Park, Watford. With the recent rain, there were a fair amount of muddy puddles to splash through and in some exposed sections, the wind was right into faces of the runners. The sun shone, however, and it was dry from above if not underfoot, and some great times were recorded including Marc Dellasega (a surprise find in the results!) Jon set a new PB by nearly 2½ minutes for the 13.1 mile distance in finishing in 26th place overall and 6th place MV40.

Please remember to state Maidenhead AC rather than any other variation when entering a race and wear club colours in races if possible to make sure you get the encouragement and recognition in results! It also helps to spot club members at races so we can say hello to teammates!
Well done Leila Oliver on completing different parkrun #40 this year with some fantastic support from members of MAC and Maidenhead parkrun: in person at Bushy Park on Saturday morning; any of the previous 39; or with good wishes. #40sfor40 Parkrun Challenge done! Robert Oliver completed his 10th parkrun (with a huge PB!)
