Thames Path Challenge
The full Thames Path Challenge (10th September) is a 100km run from Putney to Henley. Adam Stage broke his distance record on Saturday, raising money for Alzheimer research. He surpassed his pre-race expectations and was delighted to finish 7th in a time of 9:56:44 particularly as an unintentional detour added an extra 1.3km to the journey. Elisa Harris ran the quarter challenge (28km) in 2.52.52 - a new PB on last year by 19 minutes, 2nd overall and first woman.
Great North Run
Sayeed Islam and Leo Sowerby competed in the world's largest HM - the Great North Run. With 57,000 entrants and amazing crowds, it's huge!. Only a week after completing the Maidenhead Half, Sayeed achieved 1:39 - similar to last week. Leo did 1:55 - a personal best.
Triathlon - reports from two events:
Lesley Kernaghan and Colin Broadbent (a new-ish member) have been in action over the last two weekends. Lesley's achievements mean she has now qualified for the 2018 European championships in Estonia.
Llyn Tegid, Bala (North Wales) - 3rd September
Lesley competed in a standard distance tri in challenging conditions - rain, wind and a cold, choppy lake.

Alder Valley Girls Plate Final
Congratulations to all the girls competing in the final Alder Valley competition of the year. MAC is the smallest club in the league plate competition and we are delighted to say that we came 4th - ahead of Portsmouth and just being pipped by Aldershot 22 points ahead. The wet unfortunately let us down on the day but there was some pretty spectacular rain! The new gazebo earned it place today.
Big thanks to the helpers - including Karen (admin), Cara, Sarah, Andy as team managers, Gordon in coaching, Barbara and everyone helping as officials.
